What does a girl do when she is feeling under the weather?
Three things: 1. she calls her girlfriends 2. she sulks and eats 3. she shops
In my case, I don't have my friends here to call for a coffee date and sulking is not really a good option for me and I am watching my diet carefully. So what I do is usually the third and most common choice, shopping! And shoe shopping is what makes me happiest whenever I am feeling down. MK is not in his usual self earlier today as well. We both had a headache and an early appointment to the optometrist so I did not really started my day right.
But right after confirming that I will try the lenses for 6 months, we headed straight for Rotterdam. I guess, both of us needed it, RETAIL THERAPY. Every woman's excuse to go shopping.
I let MK do his winkelen first. I thought he is just going to replace his broken camera lens which was estimated at around EUR90 this morning. When we left the store, he is almost EUR500 poorer for a Tamron lens and a new Canon lens. But it made him so happy and excited to finally get a new one. He loves photography and I don't mind him spending his money on it, especially when afterwards, he is in the mood to spend for me as well.

I am desperate for a new pair of boots lately. I recently bought a winter dress and thought it would be nice with new set of boots. The last pair I bought was when I returned to the Netherlands which was about 8 months ago. It's time to get new ones.
It took us five stores before I found one that I am willing to pay for. The others are just not my type or are too expensive for me. I would not spend more than EUR40 for a pair of new boots because I might find better choices in Budapest. It's just a need to have one that is more presentable than my only pair.
So we ended up in the same store where I bought the last one, Axi Schoen. MK paid for it so I can save up some money. After today's abseilen, I think my bank account would be empty again.
This boots (picture above) EUR40,0, comes in dark chocolate color and rounded toes, which doesn't really help in creating an illusion of taller me but they are comfortable. The color is also easy to pair with my clothes so I chose it over the tobacco color (a bit like orange). They came in my size as well so I went for it.

Unfortunately for MK, I saw another pair which I have dying to buy but couldn't find one that is affordable. When I saw the price, EUR20,0, it convinced me that I have to buy even though I don't have so much money. It will make me feel good *yeah, same old reason I know. It comes in my favourite color, red with pointed toes gives sexiness when you pair it with anything and slim heels that are really hot on shoes.
So here are my new babies and rest assured that soon, I will be posting pictures of how I wore them. The new season excites me. It gives me fresh reasons to play dress up again.

I love those red ones! They're just the style I like! Although I find those thin heels much more difficult to walk in here. They're always getting stuck in the cracks between the paving bricks!
A friend of mine bought books almost exactly like those -- same color, too -- when she was visiting me here in NL for Queen's Day. I've been tempted to get a pair myself!
hmmm...the boots seem to be an absolute essential here. Every shoe shop I see now is lined up with boots, occupying almost half the store...I guess I should get one too...
You love red! I love red! I got my first pair of red boots in patent leather when I was in preschool and remember refusing to go to school in the morning if I could not wear them. They matched the firetruck toy I kept in my schoolbag. Ages later, I am still into. I totally get you. We;ve got only a pair of feet, the left and the right one and they deserve all the love that could fit in those soles! Go girl. Get geared up for winter, and when you put on the shoes you love and adore, it is surely a divine experience. BTW, I found you through Connie at House on a Hill. Love your posts to bits! That makes me a fan of yous now.
@ oranjeflamingo and Sam
I love red shoes. I have four already (ok thats not that much)and I favoured them more than my other shoes. The boots is really just a necessity but I might learn how to dress up with them while staying here.
Sam, I dropped your blog once in a while but I couldnt see a follow button. I love your recipes. I havent tried cooking them though.
@ thamarai oh yeah, the shops are filled with boots nowadays. I found one that is perfect, cost only EUR34 but they didnt have it in my size. Helaas!
