Still on the topic of pampering oneself *it's becoming so obvious that I worked hard last week!
One of the best treats to give yourself after slaving yourself at work or at school is a trip to the spa for a body wrap, a rose bath (or whatever you prefer) and a good, relaxing massage. How pleasurable it is to be pampered by experienced hands that can send you off to dreamland at the first 10 minutes of pinching and kneading your muscles *dreamy mode. You will wake up very much rejuvenated, your soul lifted and your mind have calmed down from all the stresses that work, school or the daily grind of life bestows to your beautiful body.
Oh the memories of living in the Philippines! Those are weekly treat for me back home, either from a spa which costs a little over EUR23,0 (or gratis *free sometimes, thanks to my wonderful writing escapades) or from my mother who regularly gives me treatment massage *almost every night. Even if I developed backache after a full day's work or writing the whole day, it doesn't usually last for a long time because of the available massage services in my country. After a long day, I look forward to that massage or that spa treatment which can be had for such a low price or for free!
Unfortunately *and Im going back to this subject again, a simple relaxing massage in Netherlands cost more than EUR60,0 and it's not even for the whole hour. You can hardly find a spa that offers lower than this except on occasional discount month where salons offer at least EUR50 massage. The point is, pampering yourself through spa and body treatments is insanely expensive *ramblings... ramblings.
So this little Asian thrifter is left with no choice but buy a massage oil when hers run out and seek the skillful hands of her dear love one, whenever he has some time to offer, and beg for a massage. Even just a back massage or a hand massage or a foot massage. Just so she can have her massage *old habits are hard to break.
And for that occasional massage from dear hubby, we bought the Cien Wellness Massage Oil which cost about EUR3,0+, to replace the Johnson's Baby Oil Lavender which I brought from the Philippines, EUR0.6 cents. I just couldn't live without a massage and we thought that any massage oil can replace that relaxing lavender oil.
The effect or relaxing massages in most part depends on the person giving it but I think that the oil that you use also plays an important role. Like with the Johnson's Baby Oil Lavander, it has ingredients that are known to reduce stress because of the scent of the lavender. After a massage with that, I quickly sail away to neverland.
The Cien Wellness Oil however doesn't have the fragrance appeal of my former massage oil. It smells powdery mixed with the normal baby oil scent. It doesn't really impress me because I don't like to smell like that after the massage.
But it does provide the greasiness that is required for the hands to knead through the muscles easily. If you don't mind that the greasiness stays for quite a while and doesn't get fully absorbed by the skin, then I think this product would be ok for you.
For the moment that I still haven't visited the beauty shops, I think that this Cien Wellness Oil will help in easing my muscle pains. With MK's big Dutch hands, I can at least have a piece of my pampering rituals.
